Structured garments require proportion verification before production.
Certain garments — particularly jackets and structured outerwear — require additional review beyond base measurements.
Harman Ateliers follows a calibration protocol designed to verify balance, structure, and proportional alignment before production begins.
This process allows garments to be drafted with greater precision in a digital environment.
Structured garments interact with the body differently than shirts or polos.
Elements such as:
• shoulder slope
• sleeve pitch
• chest balance
• garment length
must align correctly for the garment to sit naturally on the body.
Calibration allows these relationships to be verified before the pattern is finalized.
Calibration is conducted after your order is placed and before production begins.
The process typically involves one or more of the following steps:
1 — Guided Photo Submission
Clients may submit front, side, and back photographs wearing a reference garment.
These images help verify posture, shoulder slope, and garment balance.
2 — 360° Review
In some cases, a short 360° visual recording may be requested to observe how the garment moves and rests on the body.
3 — Video Consultation (If Necessary)
For complex proportions, a brief video review may be conducted to confirm key structural relationships before the pattern is finalized.
Not all orders require this step.
Information gathered during calibration is incorporated into the drafting of the garment’s pattern.
These adjustments ensure that the garment aligns with the intended structure of the design.
The objective of calibration is to prevent fit issues before production begins.
Calibration takes place shortly after your order is placed.
Once the process is complete and the pattern is finalized, production begins.
Estimated production time is approximately three weeks after measurements and calibration inputs are approved.
Once the calibrated garment has been produced, your pattern is securely archived.
Future orders can then be drafted using this refined pattern, allowing your wardrobe to expand while maintaining consistent fit and proportion.
Calibration is part of the atelier process.
It ensures that structured garments maintain the balance and proportion intended in their design.
