Everything you need to know about the made-to-measure process at Harman Ateliers.
The process begins when you select a garment from our collection. You then submit your measurements using our guided measurement guide, along with optional reference photos. Our atelier reviews your inputs, drafts your personal pattern, and begins production once the pattern is confirmed.
Measurements are taken from a shirt or garment that already fits you well — not from your body directly. Key dimensions include shoulder width, chest, sleeve length, and collar. Height and weight are included as reference points. Our measurement guide walks you through the full process step by step.
No. The process is designed to be completed at home with a basic tape measure. Because you are measuring a garment that already fits — not your body directly — it is straightforward regardless of experience.
Once your first garment is produced, your personal pattern is archived in our system. Every future order is drafted from this stored pattern, ensuring consistent fit and proportion across your wardrobe over time. Your pattern becomes increasingly refined with each order you place.
Your pattern is kept indefinitely. It forms the foundation of your wardrobe with us and is available for every future order.
All Harman Ateliers garments are produced by skilled artisans in Portugal, under European labour standards. Each piece is cut and sewn individually — not mass-produced.
Production typically takes 3 to 4 weeks from pattern approval. You will receive updates as your order progresses. First-time orders may take slightly longer as your pattern is being established.
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping times vary by destination. All orders are tracked and you will receive a tracking number once your garment has been dispatched.
We stand behind the fit of every garment we produce. If something is off due to a pattern error on our end, contact us and we will work with you to make it right at no additional cost.
For jackets and other structured pieces, we follow a calibration protocol before production begins. This may involve guided photo submission, a 360° visual review, or a short video consultation when necessary. This step confirms proportion and balance before the garment is cut, ensuring it is produced correctly the first time.
Orders can be modified or cancelled within 24 hours of placement. Once your pattern has entered review and production has begun, changes cannot be accommodated.
Because every garment is made individually to your measurements, we do not accept returns for change of mind. If there is a production error or a fit issue attributable to our pattern, we will resolve it at no additional cost to you.
We accept all major credit and debit cards. All transactions are processed securely through Shopify Payments.
